Bagpipes, Neeps and Tatties!

  Join me on a scenic tour of Scotland while enjoying the welcome flavors of Scottish food and drink! Not a whisky fan? You may become one after your whisky tutorial and sampling of the best! Or enjoy  a whisky cocktail, some Scottish lager or craft beer, cask ale, ciders or their famous soft drink, Irn-bru! Oh – and there is still plenty of wine to be enjoyed – although imported!

    Itinerary

    Day 1: Depart USA

    Day 2: Arrive Edinburgh and transfer to hotel Ten Hill Place or similar. Enjoy Hop on Hop Off Bus at leisure. 

    6:00pm: Meet  in Hotel bar for a beverage and welcome. 

    7:00: set out for Howies or similar for a sumptuous Scottish meal:

    Sample menus:

    Cullen Skink: Scottish smoked haddock, leeks, potatoes & cream chowder with freshly baked focaccia.

    Or

    Award Winning Traditional Haggis, Neeps and Tatties

    PAN ROASTED SHETLAND SALMON

    with celeriac puree, tarragon crushed potatoes & prawn brown butter

    or

    CHARGRILLED CHICKEN BREAST

    with caramelized onion puree, Isle of Mull cheddar mash, charred broccoli, rosemary crumb & sage jus

    Sticky Toffee Pudding 

    Wines, beers and whisky!

    Day 3: After enjoying a hearty Scottish breakfast, we will meet to enjoy a 2-hour walking tour of Edinburgh with local guide. At the lunch hour, we will meander up to Edinburgh castle to enjoy Tea complete with sandwiches, scones and pastries followed by a visit of the castle.

    Remainder of afternoon is at leisure.

    7:30pm: Dinner at The Scran and Scallie which has a reputation for the best traditional Scotch pies and libations! 

    Day 4: Get your appetites ready! Enjoy your Scottish breakfast.

    We will set out at 10:30am to meet our guide for a walking food tour.

    We will eat our way around Edinburgh with a local guide while visiting five different bars and restaurants and tasting locally sourced Scottish food with three of the stops also having drink tastings: Edinburgh raspberry gin, Single cask malt whisky and a Scottish beer (wine option available at beer stop).

    Our local private guide will talk about the history of the city as we walk between venues. 

    Remainder of the afternoon to sightsee, shop or relax!

    6:00pm: We will take a short stroll to Amber Restaurant for a VIP whisky tasting followed by dinner:

    We will enjoy a tutored nosing & tasting of 4 single malts & 1 deluxe blended malt! We will then enjoy a sumptuous seasonal Scottish tasting menu!

    Day 5: Following your Scottish breakfast, we will meet in the lobby for a full day of sightseeing in private mini van to St. Andrews and Fife! 9am -5pm Lunch on our own.

    7:00pm: After a day of touring, we will sit down to enjoy a 4-course Scottish dinner  at The Cellar Door (or similar) with wine pairings! 

    Day 6: 8:00am - Off to Waverly Station for our train ride to Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands! Check into the Royal Highland Hotel or similar. After a quick lunch of Scottish style sandwiches and Millionaire Shortbread, we have the afternoon free to explore, rest or shop. 

    5:30-7:00pm Walking tour of Inverness 

    Fun filled evening of Fish n’ Chips, live Scottish music and drinks at Hootananny’s! 

    Day 7: After breakfast, we will meet for our Loch Ness and Highlands Tour! Maybe we’ll spot Nessie! Lunch on our own. 

    Dinner: Riverside dining with Scottish seafood right from their waters! (Other options available)

    Day 8: 9:30 pick -up for our North Highland Tour including Dunrobin Castle and much more! 

    7:00pm. Alas, it’s our farewell dinner at The Mustard Seed: 

    We will enjoy soup, salad and share grazing platters filled with locally sourced Scottish food – riverside!

    Day 9: Transfer to airport

    $3,099 per person based on double occupancy LAND ONLY.
